So - if the universe is really, really big, or just a bubble in the multiverse surely there must be someone else out there. Naturally they ought to have two arms and legs like us and breath oxygen but perhaps not. Perhaps they are giant flies who can walk on ceilings or flying octopuses who breathe methane.

Surely in all these universes, full of an infinite number of galaxies there must be other beings travelling around. Our radio and television broadcasts have been in existence long enough to have travelled only a short way across our home galaxy, the Milky Way Galaxy, which is 100,000 light years across and 1,000 light years deep, with our solar system trailing way off towards the edge - so perhaps no one has noticed us yet. If they do we may not be around long enough for them to get here - if they have been watching our television they probably won't want to bother.
