Victory Gardens

Nature and despoilment

We do not hear what damage the

Gulf War

is doing to the natural environment

but historically we do know about the

destruction and pollution.

While the soldiers are

away at war

the academics are playing, along

with other townspeople

at a bathing pool.

It seems idyllic,

until it is revealed that the area has been acquired by a property developer.

The river will be dammed

the bathing pool will disappear.

The population are incensed.
