The Sites
Alien Abduction
I began this site because I liked the title - I wanted to suggest that it would be science fiction or fantasy whilst actually making a social and historic study of the field. Also I wanted to play with moving gifs.
Digital I - Dissertation Proposal
I put this together some years ago, when I had absolutely no idea about web design but wanted to experiment with a nonlinear format within which to compare nonlinear and print format literature.
Digital I - The Dissertation
This is the site which I designed for my literature dissertation. At the time I knew almost nothing about web design and absolutely nothing about CSS, so, in common with many others I 'invented' the use of nested tables as a means of page lay out.
To my surprise this work merited a first in Literature.
Therapy
This site was really about playing with mazes and confusion, again constructed with no knowledge of web design, when I was studying for a Diploma in Counselling.
This site is a combination of creative exploration of the idea of talking therapies and a small toolkit for those who find themselves distressed.
Labyrinth
This is a non linear piece which contains one of my short stories (about Leda and the Swan) entangled in a maze about monsters from myth and legend.
It is intended as a brief exploration of archetypes in mind and fiction.
Snake Soup
This piece contains a short poem in two parts, 'innocence' and 'experience' contrasted with some odd aspects of Roman Catholic thinking. It also contains links to websites which American Catholics are advised not to visit. So be warned.
The Rise and Fall of Digital Studios
An experimental film (for home viewing only). As they say: "the rest is history". We built something - some of us made some "art".
I hope it will speak for itself.
