Proposed method of study

To explore a number of arguments which exist on different intersecting planes, using two linear and two non-linear texts as primary sources.

" How is gender identity constructed within a text?

We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.
(The Tempest)

" What aspects of identity relate to gender?

" What are the differences in gender construction between linear and nonlinear?

" Whose gender identity? (The author and reader as well as character and narrator?)

" Gender and the death of the author and birth of the reader - are different readings new texts?

" The reader as author. How does the identity of the reader change the text? Texts perceived differently by differing critical perspectives.

To be considered in the light of 'arguments' which exist on different intersecting planes'.

The material is to be explored and presented in a non-linear format (html) so that it can be experienced within the type of technology under consideration. The hypertext written using the Macromedia program Dreamweaver to design web pages.
