Wasp Factory
Weapons
Frank has 'vowed' to make his own weapons. He is a skilled manufacturer of pipe bombs, easily purchasing the requirements from town. Finding the unexploded bomb he quickly realises its potential. He buys powerful catapults in town which he uses to kill wildlife. He even uses small pet animals as ammunition in the catapult. Fire is an important element to Frank so it is no surprise that he uses flamethrowers. His brother Eric also uses fire as a weapon, burning animals alive.

Frank subscribes to gun magazines from a young age and would like to own a gun. He uses pages from this in the construction of his killer kite..

In the house Angus and Frank
are sitting on an unexploded bomb too as Frank's grandfather bought a large
quantity of cordite from the Navy and it is still stored in the cellar. |
Frank is hyper male. He believes that men are meant to be 'soldier-heroes.' So he plays games of war, building pipe bombs and shooting at birds and animals with his beloved catapult. He uses the idea of his castration to motivate him in the killing of three young relatives, including his younger brother Paul. |
