space travel
Applying serious thought to the idea of space travel it becomes apparent why we probably don't see alien craft landing on Earth.
Everywhere is very, very, far away. Travelling at sub light speed would
take generations to get anywhere. People would have to travel on 'Space Arks'
with the capacity to meet all the travellers needs in terms of food, air and
water. Leaving our Earth's protective shield exposes us to all the fury of the
Sun, but perhaps we could use the solar wind to power space flight, using solar
sails.
Einstein's theory shows that it is not possible to accelerate to
the speed of light. Faster than light travel would need a new physics, or a new
cosmology. Perhaps we could surf on space by rumpling space to travel at 'warp
speed' or create a hyperspace network of connected worm holes to slip through
(without being disintegrated) or develop matter transfer. All these options,
if possible would use more energy than we are capable of generating at present
- so we would need nuclear fusion energy before we could even imagine them.
At the moment our attempts at generating nuclear fusion probably use more energy
than they generate. Matter transfer would be neat, perhaps using particle
entanglement (look it up in New Scientist archives)- which would beat the light speed ban - but in that case why
bother with space ships or even bodies?
>If these aliens are so clever
why on earth would they need to catch American citizens and put pet tags in them?Abductees tend
to avoid the issue by describing their journeys in the same terms as 'near death' survivors do -
traveling with an alien is traveling outside the material plane - perhaps into a nearby universe.
